Buy it if
- Your 1.25 inch telescope came with only one or two eyepieces
- You want a spread of magnifications, a Barlow and filters in one case
- You observe the Moon and planets visually
Skip it if
- Your focuser takes 2 inch eyepieces and you want to use them
- You want wide-field eyepieces: every Plossl here has a 52 degree field
- You image with a camera rather than observe

Should you buy it?
49/100 Stars for Your Buck
Pros
- Five Plossls: 6, 8, 13, 17 and 32 mm.
- With the 2x Barlow, ten magnifications from five eyepieces, by Celestron's count.
- Seven 1.25 inch filters: #80A blue, #58 green, #56 light green, #25 red, #21 orange, #12 yellow and a Moon filter.
- Four-element, fully multi-coated eyepieces, all in a foam-lined metal carry case.
Cons
- Every eyepiece has the same 52 degree apparent field.
- 1.25 inch only: nothing in the case fits a 2 inch focuser without an adapter.
- The six colour filters are for planetary detail and the Moon filter for the Moon, in Celestron's own description: nothing in the case is for deep-sky nebulae.
The quickest way to fill an empty 1.25 inch eyepiece box, as long as Plossl fields are wide enough for you.

- What is in the Celestron 94303 kit? Five 1.25 inch Plossls (6, 8, 13, 17 and 32 mm), a 2x Barlow, six colour filters (#80A, #58, #56, #25, #21 and #12), a Moon filter and a foam-lined metal carry case: 14 accessories in all, by Celestron's count. The specifications ↓
- Is the First Light Optics "Eye-opener" kit the same kit? Yes. First Light Optics sells it as the Celestron Eye-opener Eyepiece and Filter Kit, model 94303-CGL, with the same five Plossls, the 2x Barlow, the six colour filters and the Moon filter in an aluminium case. The verdict, the readers and the sellers ↓
- Where can I buy the Celestron 94303 kit? The prices I recorded: £239 at First Light Optics (UK), in stock; $240 at Agena Astro (US), in stock; $240 at Celestron (Global), listed. A record, not a live price The verdict, the readers and the sellers ↓
- What have I not tested on the 94303 kit? I have not tested these Plossls against other eyepieces or measured their fields.
